Alexandra Forte (aka Vhils) is Portuguese street artist living in London. This is his art project called "Walls – Scratching the surface". He makes impressive portraits by Scratching the surface of old walls in Moscow, Rome, London, New York and Portugal.

The American artist Kristofer used the most expensive expendable material for his art. He creates his pictures from the money! But to be more precise, from the bank notes of different countries. Kris thoroughly selects notes to be used for the picture cuts them and then fastens them with the aid of wax.

Colorful Favela Paintings in Santa Marta

Sequestered within the city of Rio de Janeiro, two men are giving the poor, compact community of Santa Marta a radiant makeover. Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn originally came to the favelas of Brazil in 2005 to film a documentary about hip hop for MTV, but after MTV left, they decided to stay. Soon after, the Dutch duo known simply as Haas&Hahn began Favela Painting, an organization dedicated to bringing “outrageous works of art to unexpected places.” And if you think they’re doing this on their own accord, they aren’t. Local youths are employed as an integral part of their various projects.
This is they last project in Santa Marta. Approximately 7000 square feet, spread over 34 houses.

Realistic Paper Sculptures

The artists Patty and Allen Eckman use their original method to make realistic paper sculptures. Not to be confused with papier-mache. These are two completely different environment. Artists first mixed acid-free pulp, using raw cotton, which lie in form, compressed or vacuum in their hands. In doing so, moisture is gradually removed, but the process of drying up very long. When a cast is removed from the form, then begins the process of fine-tuning, the most delicate. Some parts are removed, some added. By ensuring a very fine study of the details.

Abnormal Beauty - Fotoscans by Steve Poxon

Young British artist and photographer Steve Poxon has created a genius body of work in experimental fashion which emulates the early photogram process. The images you see below are highly detailed scans of “objects of interest”. The results are visually intriguing, achieving both a patternistic and graphic composite.

The Art of Pulp Novels

Photographer Thomas Allen creates art out of old novels by cutting out select pieces of covers and insides and photographing them with a meaningful depth of field.

Wood Carving Art

First, he cuts away the large chunks of wood to get the general shape of the subject. Next, he defines the muscles and fine features of the animal. Metal Heads - Urban Art in Berlin

German urban art group Mentalgassi covers big glass-recycling containers on the streets of Berlin with something unusual: giant faces! The results are weird "metal heads" that creepily stare at you as you walk by.

‘Alone in a Crowd’ by Rolf Sachs is a beautiful art installation which features crowds of 511 miniature people on a long table hidden behind a piece of glass. The work represents people from all walks of life grouped together.

Toilet Paper Roll Art

Anastassia Elias, primarily a painter and illustrator, carves tiny scenes out of the inside of each brown paper roll, leaving the outside intact. The subjects are engaged in everyday activities like relaxing at home, listening to a lecture or passing through a street market.

Homeless Sculptures

The Danish artist Jens Galschiøt created big bronze sculptures of homeless people, all in natural size.
“I create these sculptures because the biggest threat in a society is not the foreigners, but the way we welcome the foreigners,” says Jens Galschiøt and Ninna Hoegh continuous; “By using the sculptures made by Jens Galschiøt, we will make an alternative debate concerning the rights of the homeless people.”

Graffiti Castle in Scotland

Kelburn castle is prominently located on the west coast of Scotland, 35 miles west of Glasgow, overlooking the sea. Parts of the building are in need of repair, but funds have recently been secured to begin an extensive restoration, that includes the removal of the external render, allowing the opportunity to use the present surface as a vast temporary canvas. This has inspired the idea for this once in a lifetime project and an opportunity to be part of a truly unique and original event that has world wide media potential. It is thought to be the oldest castle in Scotland to have been continuously inhabited by the same family.
